Dear Judge Lopez, Judge Borja and Judge Ybañez,

I am a concerned citizen of Davao City. For the past years, our city has been engaged in public discussion on the effects of aerial spraying to people and the environment. We have heard all sides to the issue — from affected communities, plantation owners, plant experts, medical doctors to lawyers and environmentalists.

Early this year, our city government passed the ordinance putting a stop to this very dangerous practice. We rejoiced at the decision, at the strong political will exhibited by our leaders to protect our welfare, our lives, our environment. We are proud at what we have done to protect our people and our environment over private interest. We again rejoiced when the regional court upheld the ordinance.

It is thus saddening that a TRO has been issued on the ordinance, which will again subject our residents to aerial spraying.

We appeal to you to immediately lift the Temporary Restraining Order on the ban aerial spraying ordinance and uphold its validity.

Please, what if it is you, your children and your families who are regularly subjected to spraying?
